I love to make books from burger boxes! This one has recycled envelopes for pages and the twine is some I waxed from the bakery. Totally green notebook for my purse!

Doodle Workbook Video
I just finished Joanne Sharpe's latest on line course - "Doodle Arts and Lettering". I decided to make another video rather than post every individual page in the workbook. It was a great course, and I highly recommend it, along with every other one of her courses!

half of 100 doodles
I'm half way through Joanne Sharpe's Doodle Arts and Letters class so I made a video of my progress with the small homework assignments so far.

A New Video
I just finished the Gelli Printing class with Carla Sonheim, and decided to make a video to keep up my skills learned in the ED2GO class a few weeks ago.

Wrist pins
Happy day - my doctor pulled the pins from my wrist today and I am allowed to take off the removable cast to exercise my hand. I was surprised to find out how stiff it is after only 4 weeks!
I still have to finish yesterdays' gelli lesson from Carla Sonheim, but here is how some of them look after the first pass from Monday.

Saguaro blooms
When I took the dogs out this morning, the 2 giant saguaros in the backyard were blooming so gorgeously that I had to run back inside for my camera.

MY PROGRESS SO FAR IN 21 SECRETS 2013
As promised, I made a new video to share while I work on my movie making skills. This one has a record of my work in the recycled thrift store books as I work my way through this year long series of workshops. My broken wrist has put a crimp in my plans, but I am finding enough that I can do with one hand for now. So far I have "completed" 6 workshops and viewed one other that I deemed too hard to do with only one hand. I can move my fingers on the damaged side, but can't grip.

Test Video for my blogging course
If you can't see this video. it is because it is a house tour, so I have chosen to make it private for just family members to view. But now that I know how to make a movie for the blog, I can do some journal flips and technique videos, so there will be lots of content soon!

Today I finally got to publish the draft of my first post for this blog, written in March - see below. I think I need to print out todays blogging lesson, because there is too much stuff to remember, and I think I have labels and properties confused! Since starting this blog, I have begun the 21 Secrets workshops. I really enjoyed "Go Green" by Rae Missigman. The book I made for this workshop was totally from recycled materials.
These included an old book for the cover and some of the pages, fabric remnants, re-used painted paper towels, onion bags, paint color samples, an old key, beads made from remnants, tickets, coffee sleeves, cut-up paint sponges and much more.

Starting a new blog
I'm taking a course on blogging through the Maricopa Public Library. I have another blog, on Tumblr, which I use as an on-line gallery. If you wish to see the posts from my other blog, visit it here.
I have been enjoying this years' Strathmore workshops that started in March with Robert Joyner; he has really helped me to loosen up with my painting.
The first lesson was the coyote that strolled my back fence.
"Hot Stuff", lesson 2, was featured on Strathmore's Facebook page.
Below is "marina", from lesson 3 and below that is "Learning the Dance" from lesson 4.
